If you've been following the daily diary, you already know how the story ends. Odie makes the bed. He goes to sleep. On June 4 we shot that final scene at the Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center and everyone in the room knew what they were watching.

But here's a secret about indie film: "wrap" is a word with fine print. The main block ended June 4. Then came a night shoot that a rain forecast chased into the weekend, and after a day of rest, the pickups: a scene that needed another pass got a full reshoot, and a tiny unit grabbed montage inserts, Odie walking well-lit streets, no slate, just movement. And on June 10 we finally shot the dream sequences, the ones that were supposed to close out the schedule the first week of June and kept sliding. Zilker's Grand Lawn. A family packing a car. The material the whole film aches toward.

So the real math: seventeen shoot days, May 18 through June 10. Six hundred seventy-four logged takes across camera rolls A002 to A033, every one of them tracked in our script supervisor Melisa Balderrama Siles's handwritten sheets, which are now a kind of sacred text around here.

Which brings me to housekeeping. The daily diary made sense when there was a call sheet every morning and a small city assembling in a parking lot. Post-production moves differently. It's quieter, slower, and honestly harder to photograph. So starting today, this blog goes weekly. Every Friday, one update from the editing side of the movie. Same voice, same honesty, fewer sunburns.

Our director Nick Barr put it best in his welcome letter back in May: a movie doesn't make itself. It's a group of artists trusting the director has a picture of what we're painting. The picture just changed shape. Now it's a timeline and a very long summer.

See you Friday.
